As part of the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration on November 12, Chamber President Cindy Hopkins presented two special 2020 Chamber Champion recognitions. As the chamber weathered the unexpected storm of COVID-19, the chamber’s full board of directors was incredibly supportive of the ongoing chamber programs. However, Lawson Clary with 5 Point Church and Artis Bufford with One Church-Easley were recognized for their special efforts.
As the 2020 Board Chairman, Lawson Clary provided constant advice and encouragement as the chamber navigated operational challenges and uncertainties. And when the chamber was forced to host its 2020 Annual Meeting in a video format, Lawson graciously coordinated the use of his facility, equipment and staff to make it all happen. In addition, he voluntarily created a short video to promote participation in the chamber’s virtual member-to-member sessions.
As the chamber was forced to transition to virtual events in 2020, Cindy recognized her weaknesses in graphic design and technology. But Artis Bufford came to the rescue to assist the chamber as a volunteer social media manger, as well as establish a Zoom platform for the chamber. In addition, he graciously designed the event promotional graphics, created online links, and served as host for the chamber’s online broadcasts for five consecutive virtual events.
In recognition of their contributions, both gentlemen were honored with a 2020 Chamber Champion plaque engraved with, “special thanks and appreciation for going beyond the call of duty to lead our chamber through the COVID-19 crisis and challenges”.
Please join our Greater Easley Chamber in thanking Lawson Clary and Artis Bufford for their exceptional leadership and commitment to our organization.
