Marco's Pizza Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Opening of Relocation In Easley

On Tuesday, December 20, Marco’s Pizza hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a grand opening event to celebrate the relocation to 6615 Calhoun Memorial Highway, Unit A in Easley. In attendance were staff and supporters.

As part of the ceremony, a ribbon was cut and Chamber President, Cindy Hopkins presented Marco’s Pizza with a first-dollar certificate to wish them many years of success in the Easley community. Attendees then signed the cut ribbon and enjoyed pizza, cheezy bread, and various giveaways from goodie bags to coupons for free food.

Marco’s Pizza has been “a Slice of the Community” since they were founded in Oregon, Ohio, in 1978 by Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco. Pat moved from Sulmona, Italy to America with his family when he was nine years old. Through his dedication to not cutting corners, he opened Marco’s to cut slices the right way by making pizza but not any pizza. It was to be the pizza of quality so that people would keep coming back. That worked! Now there are over 1,100 stores across 33 states with locations in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. Today, Marco’s Pizza is the fastest-growing pizza company and the 5th largest pizza brand in America.

To go beyond their mission to grow a people-first, service-focused organization that empowers franchisees and team members to take a positive difference in their communities, they have brought on additional ways to help serve the community. In 2015, Marco’s Pizza founded Slice of Support with the goal to provide financial support for Marco’s employees who face personal or familial hardships because of catastrophic events such as unexpected severe illnesses, destruction of home/property, death of an employee, or immediate family members, and other unexpected emergencies. Then in 2022, Marco’s Pizza Foundation was established to bring people together to nurture and nourish the communities they call home. Additionally, Marco’s delivers food to organizations throughout the year to show appreciation for the work they do for the community. Within the last couple of weeks, they have dropped off plenty of pizza to the Easley Police Department, all departments at Prisma Health, and more.

Now, go to Marco’s Pizza to experience the pizza that doesn’t cut corners. They have local delights, specialty pizzas, pizza bowls, subs, sides, and salads. You can also make your own pizza with the original crust, cauliflower, and more including a crustless option. Click here to see the whole menu.
