Foothills Playhouse Honored as Non-Profit of the Year

Presented by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, the Non-Profit of the Year recognizes an organization that has demonstrated a strong effort in successfully using its organizational mission and resources to improve the quality of life and business in Pickens County, along with working in close partnership with the business community to achieve the desired results.  On November 12, the Easley Chamber was pleased to honor Foothills Playhouse as its 2021 Non-Profit of the Year.

Established in 1981, the Foothills Playhouse was originally known as the Easley Community Theatre and produced four shows at Easley High School during their debut season.  Over the years, it has evolved into the Foothills Playhouse, has changed locations from the high school to the Foothills Mall, and finally in 1991, to West End Hall, where it still resides.  In 2019, their Board of Directors voted to hire a part-time Executive Artistic Director and adopted a Family-Friendly Pledge for the theatre, as well as revamped sponsorship levels for advertisers.

Now in its 40th season, Foothills Playhouse remains a true community theatre dedicated to providing family-friendly, live theatre and promoting cultural arts.  Their Youth Board involves teens in the complete theatre process giving them a safe outlet to express their energy and talent.  Actually, entire families are often involved in productions.  The Foothills Playhouse strives to enhance the theatre’s presence in the community, as well as the community's presence in the theatre.

Please join the Easley Chamber of Commerce in honoring our 2021 Non-Profit of the Year, Foothills Playhouse.
