The board of directors of the Easley Chamber of Commerce has voted to join the Upstate Chamber Coalition. The coalition is 12 local Chambers of Commerce representing 8,000 member businesses and more than 200,000 employees. Chamber represented are: Spartanburg, Cherokee County, Greer, Greenville, Anderson, Simpsonville, Clemson, Westminster, Walhalla, Greenwood, and now Easley.
The chambers come together to better serve the Upstate business community and give a unified voice in public policy and legislative issues that impact our region’s business climate.
Some of the coalition services are:
- Provide representation through lobbying and pro-business advocacy at the statehouse during the legislative session. The Upstate Chamber Coalition has 2 full-time lobbyists.
- Provide a legislative preview in early January and a legislative recap in July for publication to our membership via email or newsletter.
- Provide weekly legislative updates during the legislative session on business issues.
- Provide membership-wide legislative survey and assist in the creation of the Chamber’s Annual Legislative Agenda.
“We are please to join with our fellow upstate chambers to give emphasis to the business needs of the upstate,” states Todd Merriss, chairman of the board of the Easley Chamber. “This gives an added voice, along with our relationship with the SC Chamber of Commerce, to advocate for our members.”
