The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce quarterly Manufacturers’ Council Luncheon was held Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Champion Aerospace in Liberty. Manufacturing representatives from around Pickens County attended the luncheon meeting sponsored by Duke Energy.

The chairman of the Manufacturers’ Council is Craig Homan of Easley Custom Plastics. Mr. Homan welcomed the group of thirty attendees and stated the organization focus will be on sharing best practices and having speakers on manufacturing topics selected by fellow members of the group.

Speaker for the meeting was Jason Martin of Duke Energy. Martin’s PowerPoint presentation concentrated on growing demand for energy, aging power plants, renewable energy, energy efficiency and the effect on manufacturing. Questions were taken throughout the presentation.
