Fall Season
Fall is approaching and I look forward to football season and chamber of commerce luncheons starting back. Congressional candidates Republican Jeff Duncan and Democrat Jane Dyer gave their platform and had many question from chamber members at this highly attended meeting on August 19.
If you are not attending our member luncheons in Easley and in Powdersville you are missing great speakers, great food by Taste of Distinction, and great networking opportunities. As always, you need to RSVP to 859-2693 or ecc@easleychamber.org to let us know you will be at the chamber luncheons.
Membership drive
September 8-10 will be three days of recruitment for new chamber of commerce members. If you know of a business that can use the networking and referral opportunities we provide, now is the time to join. Our Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Powdersville Council will be dividing into teams to better facilitate contacting prospective chamber members. Winning teams will have funds donated to their favorite charity from a portion of the new member
September 9, we will have new member orientation at DunBurks to explain benefits for your chamber investment. This will be a great time to learn about the many things the chamber can do for you.
New directors
We have had an engaged sixteen (16) member board of directors this past year. Five (5) board members will be rotating off in January 2011 year and five (5) will be elected for three year terms to replace them. Past chairman Eric Goodwin will be leading the nominating committee to select eight (8) nominations to go on the ballot for the membership to elect your new five (5) chamber directors. Exercise your right to elect your new directors when you receive the ballot in the upcoming month.
