New Director announced for Tri-County Technical College in Easley

Dr. Brian Swords has been named the acting Director of Tri-County Technical College’s new Easley Campus. Swords, a lifelong resident of Pickens County, has been with the college for almost 18 years. He is currently the Director of Operations for the college’s Corporate and Community Education Division, which includes responsibility of the college’s new Quickjobs training centers located in Oconee and Pickens counties. Swords will retain his current duties while assuming the new responsibilities in Easley. Swords holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. He received his Master’s Degree in Technology and Human Resource Development and Doctorate Degree Vocational and Technical College Administration from Clemson University.

Tri-County Technical College’s Easley campus, located on Powdersville Road, is scheduled to open in January of 2011. Students will be able to take courses toward a variety of degrees and certificates, as well as programs for professional development and general interest. The Easley Campus is also home to Pickens County’s new Quickjobs Center. The Quickjobs Center is designed to be used for workforce training and skills development.
