Leadership Pickens County accepting applications for class of 2011

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2011 Leadership Pickens County Class. The purpose of Leadership Pickens County is to create a continuing leadership in Pickens County through the Pickens, Easley, Liberty, and Clemson Chambers of Commerce and Leadership Pickens County Board of Regents. Participants of the class will be equipped with skills and knowledge and encouraged to participate in the decision making process in Pickens County.

The program consists of nine regularly scheduled sessions from September through June. Most sessions will be held the first Tuesday of each month from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.

Sessions address such topics as personal leadership skills, group dynamics, the environment and infrastructure, economic development and land use planning, local and state government, education, social systems, health care, communications, recreation and tourism. The sessions are held in locations around the county.

Those interested in Leadership Pickens County 2011 should contact Fran or Kent at the Easley Chamber of Commerce for an application or go online to the website www.leadershippickens.com. The course fee is $750 per person. Application deadline is August 10, 2010.
