The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce and The Powdersville Business Council held the annual joint luncheon meeting at Taste of Distinction on Powdersville Road for a large crowd of chamber members and guests on Thursday, August 19, 2010. The two candidates for the U.S. Congress 3rd Congressional District in S.C., Democrat Jane Dyer and Republican Jeff Duncan, were the guest speakers.
Each candidate had the opportunity to give their platforms. Topics included the economy and job creation, immigration, cap & trade, healthcare legislation, energy & transportation, taking care of our veterans, term limits, less government and less government spending. Questions from the audience were then taken and each candidate had a chance to express their view on the topic.
