Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce hosts Congressional Candidate’s Forum

On August 19, we will come together again with our joint Easley Chamber of Commerce and Powdersville Council luncheon. It will be at 11:45 AM until 1:00 PM and will be at Taste of Distinction Restaurant at 2274 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC. The cost is $15 for members and $18 for visitors. You must RSVP to 859-2693 or ecc@easleychamber.org by August 17. This luncheon is sponsored by the Robinson Law Firm.

We will have the two candidates – Democrat Jane Dyer and Republican Jeff Duncan, for the U.S. Congress from the 3rd District of South Carolina as our speakers. Each will give their platform and then questions will be asked of them from the members and guests.

Jeff Duncan is a 1988 graduate of Clemson University where he played football for Coach Danny Ford. He is currently the President and CEO of J. Duncan Associates, a South Carolina based, family owned real estate marketing firms which specialize in statewide real estate auctions.
Jeff was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2002, and was named Chairman of the House Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee in 2007. Governor Mark Sanford has named Jeff a “Tax Payer Hero” every year that he has been in the South Carolina General Assembly. He has also received the “Guardian of Small Business” award from the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB).
Jeff Duncan has been married to his wife Melody for twenty-one years and they have three sons: Graham, John Philip, and Parker. The Duncan family is a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton.

Jane Dyer was Clemson’s first female Air Force pilot and has been an Airbus A300 airline captain for FedEx for 21 years. Jane’s experience shows a determination to make a difference and a focus on excellence. She embraced every opportunity that growing up in South Carolina offered. Her commitment now is to ensure that even more opportunities will be available to future generations.

Raised in Pickens County, Jane’s parents instilled the values of hard work, education, faith, and community. Jane graduated from Easley High School and Clemson University in Mechanical Engineering.

As a working mother of four children, Jane Dye served as a deacon in her church and volunteered in the Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries. She also coached youth basketball and soccer. Encouraging children to be morally, mentally, and physically strong has always been a priority in her life.
