We are enjoying the pleasant weather and the flowers and new growth of the early spring. This is my favorite time of the year. The Easley Chamber of Commerce is offering services for members to match the excitement in the air.
- April 6 – go to the Upstate business after hours event jointly sponsored by all chambers of commerce in the area. It will be at Flour Field of the Greenville Drive baseball team in Greenville from 5:30 – 9:00 PM. The baseball team will be there to meet attendees.
- April 10 – will be Easley’s Spring Fling festival sponsored by the Downtown Merchants Association. In addition to many vendors and entertainment, there will be a bicycle race and 5k run.
- April 14 – Excellence In Business seminar at Powdersville Water District with breakfast. This month will be Attorney Dick Jones speaking on tax implications of small businesses.
- April 15- Our 3rd Thursday luncheon at DunBurks will feature county councilman Sam Wyche speaking on what our Pickens County is doing. He will also summarize the county’s new tourism board’s recommendations to make our county more accommodating to visitors that come to our beautiful area.
- April 15 – We will have the dedication of the new city park on Pendleton Street (across from DunBurks). It will also be a business after hours for chamber members from 5:30 – 7:00 PM.
- April 20 – We are fortunate to have John Cotton, CEO of Best BIZ, from Birmingham, Alabama who will conduct a seminar on Team Performance to Profit. John will share techniques to launch a best place to work culture to transition from an order-taker culture to a service culture to attain more customers. This will be at the Kimberly Hampton library 11:30 – 1:30 PM with a lunch. The cost is $20. Seating is limited so call 859-2693 or email ecc@easleychamber.org to get in on this benefit.
- April 22 – Powdersville Council will have Glenn Brill, new director of Anderson county Parks, Recreation, and Tourism speaking on what Anderson County is in that area. It will be at the Powdersville library at noon.
- May 4 – the annual Chamber Golf tournament and business expo will be held at Smithfields Country Club Lunch is provided by Bellacino’s and the dinner is hosted by Applebee’s. Many prizes will be given to the players. Call 859-2693 or ecc@easleychamber.org to get a team. This is the best golf tournament in Pickens County as stated by many players each year.
