August 2009 Chamber Luncheon, Speaker: Congressman Gresham Barrett
The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce and The Powdersville Council held their annual joint luncheon meeting at Taste of Distinction on Powdersville Road in Easley to around 100 members and guests on Thursday, August 20, 2009. Congressman Gresham Barrett was the guest speaker. Easley Mayor Larry Bagwell and locally elected officials were also in attendance.
Congressman Barrett spoke on issues including Cap & Trade, taxes, the economy, cash for clunker and healthcare. Following his speech he took questions from the audience. Congressman Barrett was also presented with a “Spirit of Enterprise Award” by Debbie Carrothers of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce for his pro-business voting record on 18 key bills this past year.
