Overview of Easley Town Center at Easley Chamber May 21 Luncheon

David Scarnati, Development Director for Cedarwood Development and the developer for the Easley Town Center, will be the guest speaker at the Easley Chamber of Commerce May 21 luncheon meeting. The luncheon will be held at noon at Rock Springs Church Gymnasium, 201 Rock Springs Rd (Bldg A on Dayton School Road). He will be giving an overview of the Easley Town Center, which is a project aimed at redeveloping the old Saco Lowell plant site. Call the Easley Chamber at 859-2693 for reservations.
Cedarwood Development has been working with the State of South Carolina to help turn the closed manufacturing plant into a productive use of the land. The project will bring more than $14 million in infrastructure improvements to the areas surrounding the site. Anchored by a new Wal-Mart Supercenter, the Easley Town Center will fi ll the retail shopping needs of the growing population of Easley and the surrounding area. There will be a diverse mix of tenants to which local residents currently have little to no access.
Construction began in March of 2008 and the center is slated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2010. Once finished, Easley Town Center is expected to create 900 jobs and help bring significant economic development to the area.
