February 2009 Powdersville Council Luncheon, Held at the Powdersville Library

The Powdersville Council of the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon at the Powdersville Library on Hwy 81. Dr. Jere Kirkley, Judy Adkins and students from Anderson Districts 1 & 2 Career & Technology Center were the guest speakers for the luncheon. The technology center in Williamston is one of thirteen in the state with 1900 students. The program gave an overview of the curriculum, the facility and placing students in jobs in our community. One group of students in statewide competition won the Inspirer Award, which allows the students to participate in the robotics world competition held in Atlanta in April. The Powdersville Council made the first contribution toward the initiation fee for the competition.

The next Powdersville Council Luncheon will be held Thursday, March 26 at the Powdersville Library with Anna Huntley of the SC Small Business Administration as the guest speaker.
