The Board of Directors of the Easley Chamber of Commerce voted to select John T. Simpson Alternative Education Center in Easley as Business of the Month for January.

The Star Academy Program at Simpson recently won the National Dropout Prevention Center’s (NDPC) Crystal Star Program Award of Excellence in Dropout Recovery, Intervention and Prevention. The Star Academy Program was the first of its kind in 2005. Now there are 19 similar programs across the country. To learn more about the Star Academy Program, visit www.staracademyprogram.org.
