The Powdersville Council of the Easley Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon at the Powdersville Library, September 25, 2008. The featured speakers were Brad Thurn and Christy Hunsinger with the Upstate Challenger Sports Program. Started in 1999 as the Challenger League baseball program, Upstate Challenger Sports Program has evolved into a year-round calendar of activities for children with special needs. These activities include baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, cheerleading, dance programs and bowling nights to name a few. The next Powdersville Council Luncheon will be held Thursday, October 23, at the Powdersville Library. Representative Kevin Bryant and Dr. Marshall Meadors will be the guest speakers.
