September 2008 3rd Thursday Luncheon, Representative Rice and Senator Martin

The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce held its 3rd Thursday Luncheon meeting on September 18, 2008 at the Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library. The speakers for the luncheon were State Senator Larry Martin, representing Pickens County and State Representative Rex Rice, representing Easley and part of Greenville County. They spoke to the chamber about legislation in the Senate and the House regarding illegal immigration & eVerify, DUI reform, DOT reform, DHEC, mental health, Sunset Legislation, tobacco tax, highway funding and property tax reform. A question and answer period followed.

Next month’s 3rd Thursday Luncheon will be held October 16 at the Kimberly Hampton Memorial Library with Otis Rawl, President of the SC Chamber of Commerce, as the guest speaker.
