The following eight (8) members have been nominated and have agreed to serve if elected to a three-year term on the board beginning January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011. Ballots were mailed September 12 to the 465 members of the Easley Chamber of Commerce. These members were nominated by a committee of five outgoing board members chaired by Michael Dent – Past Chairman of the Board. According to the chamber by-laws each member is to vote for five (5) candidates. Write in candidates are accepted. The five candidates receiving the highest votes will be elected to the fifteen (15) member board of directors.

The deadline for ballots to the Easley Chamber is October 10. The board retreat is scheduled for November 6 and the new board members will join the existing board to make plans for 2009. “This is a strong group of candidates. I am looking forward to working with the elected five members in 2009,” stated Eric Goodwin, Chairman-Elect of the Easley Chamber of Commerce.
