Greenville Drive: 4 Augusta Greenjackets: 6, Easley at the Drive: 325
August 25 was the Easley Night at the Greenville Drive sponsored by the Easley Chamber of Commerce. It was the last baseball game of the season for the Greenville Drive. It had rained much of the day but at the time of the game it stopped and it was a pleasant evening for the baseball game. Among the approximately 325 Easley residents participated along with children, parents and staff of the Medically Fragile Children Program of Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.
JoAnn Brink of the Medically Fragile Children’s Program stated, “The game was so much fun, and with our display table, we were able to get the word out more about this great program. The best part was the children and families who came to the game and their excitement about the whole event!”
Throwing out the first pitch of the game was Easley Mayor Larry Bagwell. Also throwing out the first pitch was Mr. Bill Robinson of the Easley Rotary Club and a member of the Easley Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Robinson was recognized with 51 years of prefect attendance in Rotary.
