The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors selected Happy Hooves at Eden Farms as Business of the Month for July. The mission of Happy Hooves is to serve disabled and disadvantaged children and adults by providing a safe equestrian environment staffed by competent and professional therapists and volunteers with the goal of greater individual health and wholeness.
Located and operated at Eden Farms, just 15 minutes north of Easley SC on highway 135, Happy Hooves is a non profit, 501 ©(3) organization, begun in 2001. A dream come true, with a lot work and volunteer help, owner Amy Goudelock runs this Christian ministry with the support of family and the local community.
Happy Hooves serves many special needs programs in the Upstate, among them, Camp Spearhead, Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County, The SC School for the Deaf and Blind and others. It is supported financially through individual, corporate and group organizations that see the needs and the successes of this program. Individual volunteers help with hands on needs at the farm and also volunteers and groups from local colleges and churches.
The Eden Farms Riding and Boarding facilities also serve to provide funding for Happy Hooves. The beautiful setting of the farm has been a background for many area children to experience therapeutic physical, mental and emotional healing.
The public is invited to come out and visit the farm, opened Monday through Saturday. The web site is www.edenfarms.net and the phone number is 864-898-0043.
