Outback Steakhouse was the location for the Easley Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Thursday Luncheon held February 21, 2008. The annual “State of the City address was given by the new mayor of Easley, Larry Bagwell. Well over 125 people were in attendance to hear the mayor’s annual address.

City of Easley Department heads and staffs were introduced by Mayor Bagwell, as well as City Council members in attendance. Mayor Bagwell spoke about the strong commercial & residential growth as well as the future plans for the growth of Easley, including the Saco Lowell project. “Easley is economically sound,” said Bagwell. A question and answer period followed.

Next month’s 3rd Thursday luncheon meeting will be held at Kimberly Hampton Library on March 20th with guest speakers Dr. Lee D’Andrea (Superintendent) & Dr. B.J. Skelton (Chairman of the Board) of the School District of Pickens County.
