Powdersville Water District Grand Re-Opening and Dedication
The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce and Powdersville Council along with the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce conducted a joint ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Powdersville Water District building at 1719 Circle Road on November 16. General Manager Dyke Spencer opened the program with recognition of the water district’s board of directors and a short history leading up to the expansion.
State Senator Larry Martin and Anderson County Assistant Administrator Cunningham gave remarks on this occasion. PWD Board Chairman Norbert Steeber told the history of the water district from the time Senator Strom Thurmond spoke at the beginning of the district in 1973. Mr. Steeber also announced that Dyke Spencer was selected water district manager of the year at the recent South Carolina Water Districts’ Convention in Myrtle Beach.
