A 4:30 minute tourism video for Pickens County has recently been produced. The production of the video was made possible with assistance of accommodations funds from the County of Pickens and the Mountains Lake District Heritage Corridor Board.

A committee was formed through the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce of the following citizens of Pickens County:
Carol Walsh, Vicki Rhodes, Dr. George Smith, Gerald Sweitzer, Roy Collins, Vicki Fletcher, Kathie Bobbitt, Anne Sheriff, Renee Watson, and Kent Dykes. The members composed and edited the video.

The script was prepared by Vicki Rhodes of the Clemson Chamber of Commerce and narrated by Dr. Jerry Reel of Clemson University. Mr. Larry Dent of Piedmont Video produced the video with his original film and with input from the Cliffs Communities, Clemson University, Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce, and other sites in the county. The original background music is from Bobby Holliday’s the “Crown of the Carolinas” CD.

The video is also based on the newly developed website www.tourpickenscounty.com, which was made by Mr. Sam Lawrence of Aletheia Web Design. 2500 DVD’s have also been produced for the purpose of mailing to prospective tourism to our county.

“We are currently marketing the link to the website www.tourpickenscounty.com to tourism, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, local and state government websites to encourage tourism to our county,” stated Kent Dykes, President of the Easley Chamber of Commerce.
