59th Annual Easley Chamber Of Commerce, 2007 Sweetheart Ball
The Easley Chamber of Commerce held its 59th Annual Sweetheart Ball at the Clyde V. Madren Conference Center Ballroom at Clemson University. Chamber members representing businesses in the community heavily attended the dinner/dance and awards ceremony.
Dr. John Adams of the First Baptist Church of Easley gave the opening invocation. Other speakers presenting awards were as follows: Kent Dykes, President of the Easley Chamber of Commerce, David Mitchell of Edward Jones & Co, Emily DeRoberts, Duke Energy Customer Relations Manager and Judy Burns, former Executive Director of the Easley Chamber.
Recognized also were the four members of the Board of Directors rotating off the board, after giving of their time and service for the last 3 years. They were Jim Robinson, David Mitchell, Stephanie Mann and Joy Bryant.
Michael Dent, owner of Allstate Insurance Agency, was awarded 2006 Director of the Year, as well as being inducted as the new 2007 Chairman of the Board of Directors. The traditional “Passing the Gavel,” to Michael Dent, was done by David Mitchell for Carol Walsh, 2006 Chairman of the Board.

2006 Ambassador of the Year-Rusty Bynum, Bynum Financial Group
2006 Volunteer of the Year- Gerald Sweitzer, Pickens County Vision 2025
2006 Director of the Year-Michael Dent, Allstate Insurance
2006 Business of the Year-Chick-fil-A Restaurant and owner, John Wrenn
Duke Citizenship and Service Award- Garnet Barnes
