September 2006 Business Of The Month

Toyota of Easley Selected Business of the Month for September

The Easley Chamber of Commerce board of directors selected Toyota of Easley as business of the month for September. Co-owners Tommy Norris and Don Jones select the American Legion Post 52 Baseball program and donate $100 for each vehicle sold in a month to that baseball program. “The dealership’s contribution is the largest one received in all the years that I have been associated with the American Legion program,” stated head coach Gregg Powell. The money will be used to create Toyota of Easley Scholarship for high school players planning on college.

The dealership is beginning construction of its new $5 million facility near the existing one on six acres of land. Completion will be in about one year according to Tommy Norris. Toyota of Easley has grown significantly since being built in 1981 and they are out of space. “When the dealership was first built we were retailing 35 vehicles per month and now we are over 300 cars per month,” stated Don Jones. “Currently we have 85 employees and expect to grow by 15 to 20 as construction is completed.”

“Toyota of Easley has been a long time member and supporter of the Chamber of Commerce and the community of Easley and well deserves the recognition of Business of the Month,” stated Kent Dykes, Executive Director of the chamber.
