Palmetto Finishing Chosen Business of the Month
Palmetto Finishing Company has been chosen as the Business of the Month for July by the Easley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. They were selected because of their long time membership in the Chamber; and their reorganization of ownership which insured their continuing operation in our community.
Palmetto Finishing’s dedicated associates and experienced management team enable them to remain a leader in today’s every-changing textile market. Currently, they have 42 employees and average approximately $6 million dollars in sales annually.
In April 2006, H. Doug Kingsmore acquired Palmetto Finishing, formerly the Falcon Plant of Hanes Dye & Finishing. For the past fifteen years, they have bleached and dyed fabrics for the Home Furnishings market including cottons, poly-cottons, polyesters, non-wovens, and various specialty fabrics.
Their finishing services for the Home Furnishings market include prepare-for-print finishes and pigment dyed shades used in comforters, bedspreads, linings and ticking fabrics. They also provide finishing services for fabrics used in career apparel. Palmetto Finishing provides a wide range of finishing options, from scouring and heat setting to a variety of finishes including soil release, anti-microbials, water-repellents, and fire retardants.
From sewing greige bales and winding finished fabric onto small rolls, to utilizing bar coding and EDI capabilities; Palmetto Finishing uses modern technology to maintain an up-to-date inventory of greige and finished fabrics at all times. Their other capabilities include slitting up to three panels and 130”, and palletizing of finished fabric rolls.
