New Dining Spot Opens in Easley
Easley’s newest eatery, Between the Bun Bistro, celebrated its ribbon cutting on May 23, 2006. Located at 5823 Calhoun Memorial Highway (Highway 123), behind Eckerd’s and across the road from Toyota of Easley’s Used Cars, Between the Bun Bistro opens at 10 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays, offering an imaginative menu of sandwiches, salads and daily specials – including soups and desserts – to be eaten on the spot or boxed for take-out or delivery.
“We are happy to deliver your order says partner, Ron Walter, who adds that they will also prepare box lunches and picnics for the lake or for tailgating. “Just call ahead and we’ll have them ready for you to pick up.”
In the few short weeks the café has been open, customers are already showing favoritism to some of the items on the imaginative menu. “We’re getting lots of orders for The Godfather of all Buns – ham, cappicola, salami, pepperoni, turkey, provolone pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and a special Italian dressing on French bread,” says Jan Batson Childers. She and Ron Walter, creator of the Godfather of all Buns, are partners with Bill Singfield in this venture.
Another popular sandwich is a Between the Bun original – the Carolina Turkey Apple Sandwich which features turkey, sliced Granny Smith Apples and apple butter on grilled wheatberry bread. The partners also offer “the best Broccoli Salad ever” as well as homemade pimiento cheese and Beer Chili for its hot dogs.
The restaurant, which is not open on Sundays, closes at 8 p.m. weekdays and 4 p.m. Saturdays.
In addition to the restaurant, Between the Bun also offers catering and will tailor menus to a client’s entertainment needs. For details, call 864-306-9725 and the Fax number is 864-306-9723 or e-mail btbunz@yahoo.com.
