The Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce held the Powdersville luncheon at Marathon Community Church on Thursday, March 23, 2006. Bill Dees was the guest speaker. Mr. Dees has served on the Anderson District 6 County Council for 6 years. Prior to being a councilman, he was a captain with the Greenville Police Department. Mr. Dees talked about the growth of Powdersville in the last 30 years. He also talked about the future plans for Powdersville, including the new library. At the conclusion of his talk, Kent Dykes, Executive Director of the Easley Chamber of Commerce presented him with a framed photograph of Mr. Dees with one of his grandson’s David.
