Burning Hills Soccer Club joins Chamber

The Chamber welcomes its newest member, Burning Hills Soccer Club, to our non-profit division. Burning Hills came into being two years ago when Mayor Christopherson asked for a soccer program for the children of Easley. Vice-President of South Carolina Youth Soccer Association, Barry Bynum, also a member of the Chamber through Bynum Financial Group, Inc., contacted long time friend and soccer associate Alton Jones, an experienced professional manager of soccer clubs as well as leagues. Alton is from the upstate area and had been coming back to the Pickens mountains between soccer seasons from the beach where he managed a club of 500 and a league of 1200 young soccer stars to help take care of his elderly mother.
The quality of the facilities here in Easley helped make his decision easier, the move was made, and with a bit of hard work and support of a very enthusiastic soccer community the newly created Burning Hills Soccer Club has grown from 0 to 355 children in two years. Alton also manages a soccer program for Foothills YMCA in Clemson and has 55 children playing in house with 300 Easley children each Saturday in games at Red Owens and in Clemson. Burning Hills fully supports the Chamber and its members and intends to take its place beside you as an enhancement to the community.
