Mr. Preston spoke about the economic development that is taking place in Powdersville. He talked about Anderson County’s plan to construct a new Library and Government Center on Circle Road, as well as the new Powdersville Convenience Center and Dolly Cooper Park, which will be located at the west side of Old Anderson Road near Spearman Circle.

The Library and Government Center will be a state-of-the art facility providing more services to Powdersville and the surrounding community. Inside the 18,000-square-foot facility, 12,000 square feet will be dedicated to library space. The remaining 6,000 square feet will provide office space for the Powdersville magistrate’s office, the treasurer, the office of Building and Codes, and other government offices.

The Convenience Center will serve as a drop-off point for recyclables and will feature horticulture displays, a recycling education building, a learning and picnic pavilion, an ecology walking trail and recreation spaces.
